Manta Queen 2, Similan Island Liveabaord Trip No. 258.

On the first day of the trip we woke up to a beautiful sunrise at the island Koh Bon in the Similan Island National Marine Park. We spent most of the first day there, enjoying the views and crystal clear water. We did our first dive in the Koh Bon bay. This was a nice, relaxed check-dive and we saw moray eels and lionfish. Second dive was at the Koh Bon West Ridge where we had some current and a big napoleon wrasse. After lunch we jumped in at the Koh Bon North Ridge. This was a super cool dive with a big napoleon wrasse, a sea snake, baby angelfish and one group were lucky and spotted a huge eagle ray! After this the captain drove north to Similan Island of Koh Tachai for our final dive of the day at the Koh Tachai Pinnacle. On this dive we saw a lot of barracudas and as we surfaced the sun set in the ocean. Very nice ending to our first day :)

On the second day we had arrived further north at Richelieu Rock outside if the Surin Islands. We spent most of the day exploring the beautiful Richelieu Rock pinnacle. On the first dive we saw many cuttlefish, a turtle, rainbow runners, shrimps and so much more…. On the second dive there was a special surprise planned as Julien proposed to his love Cindy! So beautiful and special to witness! We had one more dive at Richelieu Rock before we headed back south to Koh Tachai for another sunset dive at the Koh Tachai Dome.

Day 3 of the trip and we were back at Ko Bon Island where it all started. We woke up early and did a deep dive at Koh Bon Hin Luang. One group was lucky and saw a leopard shark in the deep. After breakfast we jumped at the Koh Bon North Ridge and enjoyed a nice calm dive with moray eels, a huge barracudas and a turtle! We had a long surface interval as we drove towards mainland and our last dive of the trip, Boonsung Wreck. Although reduced visibility at this site it was very nice. We were surrounded by marine life. Baby barracudas, snappers, fusiliers, puffer fish and much more! Great way to end the trip!

Congratulations to Ronny for completing his PADI Advanced Open Water course with PADI Instructor Nat and we welcome Anders to the PADI family as he is now an PADI Open Water Diver and PADI Advanced Open Water thanks to PADI instructor Guolin.

Also, big congratulations to Julien & Cindy for the engagement! All the best for you in the future!

Thanks everyone for an awesome trip and hope to see you again!
