Endo of Season Manta Ray show!

The new moon has come around and the Mantas Rays are back! Let’s see how long it will last this time around!

Similan Islands 3 day and 3 night trip with Manta Queen 2 trip number: 244 set off on April 9, heading straight for the famous Koh Bon Island for the first dive in the morning.

(Our pre-Songkran cleansing trip before the holiday purge hehe ;-). Our boat was full of PADI students taking part in everything from a PADI Open Water Course, the PADI Advanced Open Water Course and PADI Enriched Air Course Program that we run onboard every Manta Queen vessel. Apart from learning new skills underwater, all first THREE dives at Koh Bon Island included MANTA RAYS! After a few weeks without seeing the winged giants, they have come back with the New Moon and are enjoying the waters around Koh Bon Island as much as we are. napoleon wrasse, octopus, and plentiful morays also graced the waters of Koh Bon Island on our first day. We finished Day 1 with an exciting and surprisingly current free dive at Koh Tachai Island, before heading off in the dark of the night leaving the wonderful sunset behind to the world renowned, and one of the top 10 dive sites on the planet: Richelieu Rock.

Day 2 started off with 2 nice dives at Richelieu Rock, with pineapple fish, hunting trevallies, barracuda schools, and pipefish being just a few of the marine life that was spotted by our dive guides and guests. Dive three took place at a slightly more turbulent Koh Tachai Island, before heading back south to Koh Bon Island for the sunset dive. More Manta Rays!

Day 3 started with an exciting deep dive at Koh Bon Pinnacle, where we spotted giant marble rays, venomous stone fish, and very low NDL times ;-). Dive 2 was done at Koh Bon North Ridge before continuing to Boonsung Wreck for our 11th and final dive of the trip.

We are very happy to announce the Manta Rays are back, but as we are already in April, it is not certain how long these magnificent guys will still hang around! Book your trip and your PADI course NOW on any Manta Queen vessel for the last chance of the season to see them!
