So, it was another fantastic four days in the Similan Island and Surin Island Marine parks for Manta Queen 3. We even had a Whaleshark on the last day of diving! So cool.
After leaving Khao Lak pier our first day of diving produced some fine memories, and the night dive was exciting as well, being the first night dive ever for several of the guests onboard. After an amazing dinner everyone was eager for day two.
We started in the Similans at the North Point and Christmas Point dive sites. Special sightings included Eagle Rays and many White Tip Reef Sharks circling around. Koh Bon and Koh Tachai Pinnacle were up next. Always a treat, these two dive sites displayed mild currents on this day, with sightings of Octopus, a Hook Jaw Moray and even a Marble Ray up in shallow water! Sweet!
Richelieu Rock was beautiful as always, with so much marine life dancing all around, both overhead and below. It is always clear to see why this is consistently rated as one of the top dive sites in the world.
The final day of diving was extra special, as a few of the groups were lucky enough to spot a Whaleshark cruising through the blue at Koh Bon Island! Awesome!!!
There were a few guests who brought flying drones onboard, and they produced some amazing aerial footage and photos from the small cameras mounted underneath. What a great trip it was, with people from all around the world coming together to share a common interest in the underwater world and to make new friends above the waves.
Congratulations this week to Claire, Marc and Gregory for completing their PADI Nitrox course this time around, and to Anita, Adrian and Jonas for completing their PADI Advanced Open Water course onboard during the trip. Great job guys!
