Manta Queen 3 Similan Island liveaboard
With only eighteen divers and eight diving staff on board this trip, everyone got lots of personal attention, forming close-knit groups, and overall having an amazing Similan Island liveaboard trip! We started our first day with a beautiful dive at West of Eden where we got a sample of both coral reefs and the Similan Island’s awe-inspiring boulders. Later that day whilst exploring the swim-throughs of Deep Six, some were lucky enough to see an eagle ray, while others met a friendly family of napoleon wrasse swimming by. We finished the day with a night dive where we observed the activity of nocturnal marine life and even found some lobsters.
On day two, after a morning of dancing to the Backstreet Boys and doing a few more dives in the Similan Islands, we headed to Koh Bon where were did a beautiful sunset dive where we went on a mission to find the blue sponge snail. Meanwhile, “Team Koh Tao” went to Koh Bon West Ridge find sharks and they saw seven blacktips! Day three was filled with dives on Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. Both sites were filled with schooling fish, beautiful soft corals, and plenty of other marine life. We got our fill of moray eels, cuttlefish, barracuda, and a few lucky divers even saw juvenile emperor angel fish. Finally, day four was spent looking for stonefish, exploring the depths of West Ridge, and playing amongst the porcupine fish at Boonsung Wreck.
During this trip, we had a number of divers doing PADI courses with our team of PADI Instructors onboard Manta Queen 3. Congratulations to Kelsey for completing her PADI Open Water Diver course and Dominik for doing his PADI Advanced Open Water course.
