Day Two
Richelieu Rock
Always a winner, today we got to see why it's in the top ten.....
All three dives with whaleshark and at times two , who come in to feed in the cold, plankton rich waters brought up from the deep by the spring tides, a festival of marine life feeding to their fill ..... An incredible dive from 30 to 3 meters
Day Three
Koh Bon pinnacle and Boonsung wreck
The pinnacle or Hin Luang meaning yellow rock due to the abundance of yellow soft corals growing on every available space, it's a short dive due to NDL limitations but well worth the effort , current can be a factor here also so rapid negative entries are required so as not to drift of the site during decent, it's good to place to see the blotched fantail ray and mantas alike but today we were only lucky enough to see stewie the stonefish.
Boonsung Wreck
20 meters max
Old dredger used in tin extraction, sank in 1984 and badly damaged by tsunami in 2004
An aquarium sooooo much life in a small area ..... That's why people call it fish soup, easy to forget how time flys underwater as your NDL time soon gets used at a constant 20 meters ...... Morays of all types and shoaling fish all over the wreck .... A great way to finish your three day liveaboard
Thanks for coming on MQ VI and hope to see you all again
