You can start as soon as you wish, right from the comfort of your couch at home, with the help of PADI E-Learning. This way not only are you a step ahead once you arrive here, but you also don’t need to spend your precious vacation time in a classroom.
You will have all 5 PADI theory chapters and knowledge development to pre study before your arrival, any questions or queries you may have regarding theory can be explained to you in person by your dive instructor, who will remain with you for the whole duration of your PADI Open Water Course.
All you need to do is show up at the very latest, 9 am on the day before the day of your liveaboard trip on Manta Queen 5 or the departure of any other Manta Queen liveaboard vessel. With the new Marine Park rules, we can no longer take uncertified divers into the Similan Island Marine Park. This means that before you get on board for the adventure of a lifetime exploring the underwater world, you will be a fully certified PADI Open Water Diver.
The PADI Open Water Course consists of 5 knowledge development chapters as well as a final exam, alongside practical in water training, first in our onsite training pool, and then out in the open. There is a confined water session, corresponding to each knowledge development chapter which your instructor will conduct step by step, in these five sessions you will master all skills needed to become a certified diver and then practice then again once in open water.
By choosing this way of learning, and gaining 11 dives on top of the mandatory 4 dives you need to complete the course we can guarantee that you are going to start your journey as a diver in the best way possible, becoming more and more comfortable and confident with every dive.
Course Schedule
Day 1
09:00 am Meet your instructor at the office, finalise paperwork, check over all theory and complete necassary quizzes.
10:00 am Confined Water Training (sessions 1, 2 & 3)
12:30 pm Lunch Break
01:30 pm Open Water Dive 1 & 2 (local house reef boat dive)
Day 2
09:00 am Confined Water Training (sessions 4 & 5)
11:00 am Open Water Dives 3 & 4 (local house reef boat dive)
17:30 pm Check in for your 3 Day 3 Night, Adventure in The Similan Islands on-board Manta Queen 5 including 11 more dives at Thailand's most pristine dive destination.
Please Note: If you wish to arrive only one day prior to your departure on Manta Queen 5 it is essential that you complete all E - Learning modules and quizzes before your arrival, this is so that we are able to stay on schedule.
