Similan Island Liveaboard Trip Number 215
Here is your recipe for an amazing underwater adventure in the Similan Islands: Take 33 divers from 14 different countries and place them gently on Manta Queen 3, the biggest boat in the fleet. Ensure they are well fed and watered 4 times a day with delicious meals and juicy fruit. Add a sprinkling of pineapple cookies for best effect. Now stir in 16 PADI Courses to ensure most experienced diving – PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Enriched Air and Deep Specialty divers.
This stage is crucial in the creation of a memorable holiday: Let simmer for 4 days in a bright and sunny atmosphere, regularly dipping the lot in 30 degrees warm water to a maximum depth of 30m. The ingredients will soak up the best flavours the Similan Islands have to offer: The leopard shark at Koh Bon’s North Ridge and its floppy neighbour, the marble ray. The harlequin shrimp at Koh Bon Hin Luang riding their sea star. The squished-little-bird shape of the seamoth at Koh Tachai. The seahorses, frogfish and ghost pipefish at Richelieu Rock. And the clouds of yellow snappers, waterfalls of fusiliers and twirls of yellowtail barracudas at almost every dive site. Once the desired smiles of happiness have been achieved, feel free to leave the Similan Islands and turn back towards the Thai mainland. Finish off the trip with a dive at Boonsung Wreck, for a final sprinkling of nudibranchs, scorpionfish and baby batfish, then get ready to tell your friends and family how fantastic the trip was.
Congratulations to Maryam, Martina, James, Shelly, T, Henrik, Arne, Chris, Mandy and both Michaels for successfully completing your PADI courses – we hope you’ll always dive safely!
